GOP of Island County Holds Campaign Training Seminar

GOP of Island County held it’s second Campaign Training Seminar last Saturday (April 4, 2026) at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Oak Harbor. This training, co-sponsored with the Business Industry Association of Washington, helped to ensure that political activists in Island County have the training to successfully lead future Republican campaigns.
Nearly 15 political activists were invited to attend the seminar and included Chili Hicks, candidate for the state legislature in District 10, Gary Wray, candidate for the state legislature in District 10, Eioan Brown, chairman of the Island County Young Republicans, and Tim Hazelo, state committeeman of the Island County Republican Party.  
The seminar was taught by the Business Industry Association of Washington’s Vice President of External Affairs Jan Himebaugh. Topics addressed included voter identification and outreach, doorbelling, campaign management, fundraising, campaign materials, and Public Disclosure Commissiong reporting requirement.
More training programs are being planned and will be advertised on this website.
